In college I studied architecture and industrial design. At the end of the semester we had to present our projects to the class, professor, and often other professionals who had sponsored the criteria. I would practice my presentation many times, but allow myself room to freestyle portions that might trip me up. Yes, there were words I hung on, but I kept moving through it, answered questions, listened to criticism, etc. I would try to volunteer to go first. This gave me less time to dread certain anxieties and concerns, everyone was still fresh, and the professor had no other projects to compare. I think that was beneficial in a final grade perspective.
