Every time I order something I always want to tell the cashier/host/waitress whatever you want to call them to buckle down it’ll be a minute cause I get on my name with just about every stutter I have. I have 2 most common stutters, block and prolonged syllables, but I also have a “filler stutter” which is where I fill what would be silence with stuff like “um uh”, “like um” and the sort. I know half the time people probably think I’m nervous or that I just have no idea what I want. I say “um uh” before my name, then block and prolong the first letter in my name, before and during my order, it’s the worst time for me lol. The filler is my main stutter most of the time, so that comes out the most before any others show their face Ways of “overcoming” the stutter when I’m saying my name change just about every other month. This month it’s clearing my throat a couple times before actually getting out my name. Last year for the longest time I would wrinkle my nose then move it to the both sides before saying anything, it’s almost like a tic before saying my name. Who knows what it’ll be in 2 months from now haha.
