I think you can't go wrong with letting someone finish their own sentence, so when in doubt, do that ;). But it happens to us a lot so yeah we are used to it. For myself it just feels bad when someone interrupts my efforts of speaking by answering it with so much ease. But don't overthink it too much, you can always just ask the person.
