Same here. Although the stutter got better in my case over the years, it's still present. And the attempts I had trying to be with someone, usually ended when they found out about my stutter. Sometimes, when the stars align nicely, I can cover it up and speak with only a slight pause on the first syllable of sentences, giving away the impression I can speak without issues, but it resurfaces eventually and that's basically it
