The reason I'm trying to talk it down is that we see in other discourses that "genes" are being terribly misunderstood. Some people even start blaming their progenitors for their ailmens, which definitely doesn't make sense. Some also come to see themselves defined by these genes, instead of looking for other routes through life. We wouldn't want that sort of thing for this phenomenon. It doesn't make sense, and it risks actually being in the way of a healthy approach to life and all that. Whether or not science will eventually figure out something specific in terms of _treatment_, based on the genetic interplay that somehow factors into stuttering, is another thing altogether, but of course that's interesting. It just doesn't hold much information for us, today.
