Never been mocked or made fun of to my face..Why are your stories so different? Am I lucky? Not sure. I'm a guy and growing up, I can safely say that I have never been bullied, harassed or tormented because of my stutter. Yes, kids have giggled when I read outloud and class and have joked about it with me. But, I am fortunate to say that I was never targeted to be be made fun of because I stutter (To my face at least). **I just want to draw some parallels here for younger kids, students and teenagers who are being bullied or harassed.** I am not a registered therapist or fit to offer advice, but if I offer some free personal advice - **please learn to not accept this.** It is not okay for someone to bully you, make fun of you for something you have zero control over. If you are getting bullied/harassed for stuttering, please tell an authority figure (Teacher, Parent, Councilor hell even the police if it's that bad). BUT DO NOT feel sorry for yourself. Take action and serve justice back to the insecure laden people who have the audacity to make fun of you. Empower yourself because this is a dangerous path you are taking to be victimized at every opportunity of stuttering. A lot of people won't like my post, but it's what I've learned. Please do not take my post out of context. I just want people who stutter to know that you can still have confidence, charisma and high self-worth despite being someone who stutters.
