To expand further on this, I feel like the real issue; from a software/ speaking methodology perspective, it's more to do with how we respond to the crash. We ignore the underlying mechanism and keep right on trying to get the word out. But. What if we instead.. actually acknowledge it? As having prevented an error. Find the error, and correct it with a fresh speech plan that's more properly formed. And this should be done calmly, oops, stop, lemme take a pause here. Take whole minutes if you have to. But don't take a breath and open your mouth again until you are ready to execute the speech motor plan. There's that readiness, which I think is directly related to the thalamus selection process
