I'm sorry to hear about this :( I should've probably covered this earlier, but it may help to alternate between different starting phrases. The reason stuttering perpetuates is because our brain hyperfocuses on words, we think about what we want to say, and we stutter. Even if you fit words in front, if it's the same word you will eventually focus on that specific word and stutter too because that is how the stutterer's brain works. You need to create variation and speak instantaneously without thinking about the words. After a several weeks to months, you won't need to come up with more variations because you would have already improved and stopped stuttering to a massive extent. That's why you must focus on "linkage" and not on specific words. Also, I wouldn't call the concept of word linkage as a "trick," since normal people focus on general concepts and not on saying specific words.
