Do you mask your stutter? How do you hide your stutter? I would only say words and phrases that I know I could say without stuttering. Even if the words/phrases are not relevant to a conversation. If someone noticed I wasn't making sense, I'd follow it up with something funny like saying "whhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa???" Laugh and let other people move with the conversation like nothing happened. I would avoid saying what I really wanted. Now that I'm older, I am realizing that I have been masking my stutter and just how bad that is. Hiding who I am and what I really want to say. Now that I am aware, I am making it a point to say what is really on my mind, no matter how long it takes. Some won't listen, and that's fine. I don't have time for them in my life anyways I am curious, what do you do to hide/mask your stutter?
