I started working in hospitality when I was 16 knowing that I’d be talking to lots of people every day. Of course I was really nervous and I did stutter from time to time but I found the more I worked and the more I put myself into situations that I’d usually ignore, my stutter got better and better. The two main factors that made my stutter worse were a bad nights sleep and low confidence, so if I had work the next day I’d try and get the best nights sleep before and mentally prepare myself for a good day at work!
