I think you've outgrown this friendship. You don't need to explain or educate others unless YOU want to do that. Personally, I let people like this go. I also feel this way about politics. I am never going to convince someone else that my point of view is right. As it is, we can find a 100 articles to back up our point of view on anything, hence the absolute madness of social media. I say let this little bird go and fly away, a new friend will come into your nest soon enough.
