There are many fine devices that will be of great help to those of us who stutter. Stuttering is basically a neurological problem where the mind and the mechanism relating to the user's speech is disrupted. When we stop the disruption of OUR speech the stuttering is greatly diminished. This is why we stutter much less when we whisper; when we sing, when we speak in unison with another person. Personally I use the Edinburgh Masker which masks out my speech and hence I am fairly fluent with it. Another fine device is the Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) which let's us hear our voice after a slight delay. There are also fine programs which teach a stutterer to speak through his diaphragm which let's them hear a slightly different voice. None of them will help all who stutter but they do help most people.
