Yes, I'm a former stutterer turned mild stammer, and a college professor. I find on the rare occasion when the stutter comes back from stress, talking slowly helps. But even more, I try using my speech therapy where you slowly stretch out the letters that make you stammer, like Carl Saigon did. It's called "gliding". It does help and it takes my mind off how other people might be seeing me.
