There's about 12 or thirteen of them. They're things like whispering problem words and dropping the first letter of the word you're blocking. Of course most of these crutches don't tackle the underlying problem or actually help you over come blocks. They also make you less intelligible and hard to hear. I don't know about you but I still stutter even if I try to whisper which basically using the light touch/contacts speech therapy technique on every word. And light contacts and other speech therapy techniques never worked for me either. They always fell apart outside the comfort of a therapy session. And dropping the first letter of a word doesn't dissolve the block. What if the next letter or speech sound in that words is also common problem sound I have problems saying? Do I just keep dropping letters... 🤣. And then there's the problem that dropping letters in a word means often times the listener will mishear what word you're trying to say and ask you to repeat.
