You might want to consider disclosing that you stutter. Something like, “hey, I stutter, so you might hear me stutter, it’s just the way I talk!” When you put it out there, confidently, you then don’t have to worry about stuttering or be anxious, because you’ve already put it out there. People are cool when we’re open about something we wish we didn’t have. People usually very much respect that. Plus, it opens the door for them to maybe feel comfortable about something they’re anxious about. When I disclose right away, I usually feel so much better. Then I’m not obsessing what they’re going to think if I stutter.
