"Mostly" isn't all. There was just a post a couple weeks ago about how women in this sub feel overlooked and I brought up the point that commenters often assume that OP is male even when there's no mention of gender. It finally happened to me! What an honor. /s I only know my own experience, so I have no idea if stuttering varies between genders, but I'd reckon that every stutterer's experience is unique to them.
