There’s a few reasons we stutter (and will always stutter from time to time like normal fluent speakers do and you will get there too) 1. You hyper-focus on speech in a very self conscious way (this is called hyper intention by Viktor frankl - you must learn in your brain to be able to release the hyper intention by using paradoxical intention just for a few months, years etc til it’s engrained in you to release that pressure) 2. There is some one you are trying to impress and/or has some sort of authority over you that causes stuttering or would cause it (sometimes a parent who is over controlling or a bully who is a tyrant can cause u to stutter - the bully could even be yourself to yourself; refer to 1 lol) 3. You have a belief that no matter what you will always be anxious/stuttering 24/7 til u die - dont, please! Lol. Read the 17 cognitive distortions by Jonathan Haidt and practice noticing when you generate negative emotion and why - anxiety and stuttering are hand in hand phenomena - that’s why people say ‘I hope I don’t stutter!’ In a presentation, on a date etc. 4. Practice having fun speaking! Speak in the mirror, to yourself, sing, read out loud, but have fun!! When it becomes fun you will find speaking fun! Enjoy the journey! :)
