The adaption is about finding a role that suits you and your disability. Yes, many jobs do require verbal communication skills (which people who stutter are not completely void of), but if that hurdle is too daunting for someone, they can find another position where verbal communication isn't absolutely paramount, which is again lots of them. Most working teams communicate via Slack/Teams these days anyway. If you're on a video call and struggling - just use the chat option. People will understand.
