I’ve known SLPs in a variety of settings - and most had no clue I was suffering w a disabling stutter. Not only do grad programs offer very very little in the way of *current accurate info about actual dysfluency* but ASHA even eliminated requirements (coursework, fieldwork) a decade or so ago. Most SLPs treat dysfluency as if it’s artic - *in terms of etiology and effective intervention strategies, they are drastically different*. Most of us here have had speech tx and have, at best, not been helped at all. Please please please look at the very professional info that comes from SLPs who specialize in dysfluency and who are also PWS . The strategies given are often drastically different, or even the polar opposite of the ones that have parallels to artic strategies. I’ve used the appropriate strategies and permanently decreased my blocks by 95%. Look at my other recent comments here to see the sources.
