I do not stutter, but my brother does. When he was in middle school he had a teacher tell him he would never get an A in English. When he was in high school, he had an entire english class laugh at him when the teacher required him to give a verbal presentation. Fast forward several years though and he finished high school with an A in english, he graduated college near the top of his class and got a job at Goldman Sachs. He struggles for sure. But he has focused on doing work that allows him to reduce his talking time with others, and he has done really well at realizing that his peers are those who stutter - not those without a stutter. So instead of drawing comparisons to people without his challenges and wondering why life is so hard for him, he just basically has forged his own path and lived life on his own terms. It’s not easy, and I know he struggles. But he has found a girlfriend who loves him and a job that appreciates him. So hopefully you will find similar supports and successes in your life. :)
