I have stuttered in middle school, high school, and college. Your best weapon will ultimately be disclosing your stutter, this will ease your nerves and save you from any perceived judgements. Nonverbal communication gets you further than you think when trying to make friends, I made a lot of friends with people sitting near me in class. One on one is easier than approaching an established group. As far as success goes at school, make sure your counselor is aware of your speech. Also make efforts to let your instructors know, conveniently before a class starts if you can get there early - that way they know in advance if any activities are planned. If you can’t get in before, don’t sweat it - sometimes I would announce my stutter when introducing myself to my class. Honestly as long as your instructors and counselors are aware they will work with you and accommodate any learning needs. Just don’t be afraid to stutter, no one (the majority) gives a shit at the end of the day.
