Thank you for reading. The dog transforms into a person to accentuate the fact that the person was speaking fluently with their dog, which helps to illustrate that they can speak fluently at all. Many people who stutter have situations where they are more likely to be fluent, but they register this fluency as an anomaly, or they don't register it at all. It is only when they speak with other people, that this fluency 'counts'.
