Well maybe watch the kings speech alone some time. Confidence really is the key to our troubles. I’m 26 years your junior but I have thankfully realised this by now. Getting comfortable with the uncomfortable helps too. Iv worked in retail the last 8 years, started on night shifts as I was too terrified too face customers and have conversations. After 3 years of nights I switched to days and for the past 5 years I have come to love interacting with customers on a daily basis. Just small conversations, even asking if they need help. Forcing myself to have these conversations each day helps. You can feel the confidence growing. Don’t get me wrong I still have my moments of stammering but I sure as shit won’t let it hold me back from getting on with my life. I’m about to move to a different country in 2 months time to start a degree in English and Media. The plan is to become a digital journalist. I won’t let my stammer hold me back. You can’t. You have to attack things head on. Good luck.
