Talking to girls

Talking to girls Is it okay to try to pursue a relationship with a girl without talking to her irl? Is that just setting myself up for failure? I'm really friendly over email, but in person I avoid her because I don't want to speak in front of her. I don't think she minds my stutter and I'm not really trying to hide it, but talking is painful and exhausting for me and for anyone listening to me and plus I feel like if she sees how when I speak people look at me like I'm retarded or pity me it's going to make me lesser in her eyes. Do you think a girl can like or respect a guy with this disability? Does it look wimpy or weak if I try to avoid speaking? Is it weird to be friendly only in writing, and not in person? Should I try to explain why I don't like to talk in person or would that be even worse?
