Yeah, that's a common trick. :) But also, if it starts getting on your nerves that you can never say the initial word that you wanted to use, pay attention to that. It can be a lot of effort to run several sentences all at once, swerving between them as problematic words arise. I did that a lot once, but I decided to stop and simply use the words I wanted. It's a hard habit to kick - but I feel like my sentences are easier to deliver now. If there's stutter, I just do that too. We can certainly use the trick for "emergency", but if it's habitual... I worry what it might do to our feeling of control. That's just me, though! Others might be totally fine wih it, all through their life.
