It’s self defeatist to preach for acceptance and grace towards myself and my stutter? Sorry I don’t want to spend my entire life chasing a version of myself that isn’t authentic. I have a stutter. I will always have a stutter. I can overcome my stutter by living with it, advocating for myself and doing what tricks and tips I can to manage it when necessary. I can also surround myself with people who treat me with respect and show me patience and understanding. Life is too short to spend it wanting to become someone else. Who we are is good enough. Was that self defeastist? It doesn’t seem that way to me.
