Recruiters Hanging Up When You Stutter While Saying " Hello "? Has anyone else experienced this? You apply for a job, and then the next day you get a call from an unknown number (who you know is the recruiter). You say " h-h-h-hello ", and then they HANG UP THE PHONE. That's happened to me a couple of times. Which is why I've stopped saying hello. I just pick up and wait for the other person to talk. And often times I know for sure that the unknown number is the recruiter and not just some spam caller because I will apply for a job in a totally different province and then get a call from that province's area code.
