It sounds like whether or not you prepare, you might stutter. Right? So perhaps the question isn't about preparation. It also sounds like you get nervous, and think you can only solve this via preparation. Right? So perhaps you need to think differently about your nervousness. Why do you think you get nervous? If it's distinctly because of stuttering, you might approach the stutter directly, either by thinking differently about it, or by trying out some speech therapy to see if it makes things better for you. However, if you're nervous - out of the ordinary, we might point out - and it's not really about stuttering at all, that's something you could address on its own. So, in short, perhaps "balance" isn't what you need, after all.
