Honestly now that I've come to accept my stutter when I have moments of dysfluency they seem shorter. I think a reason stutterers observe these flare ups is because of a feedback loop of hearing their stutter and then all the baggage tied to it comes to the fore. Accepting a stutter isn't the worst thing. Honestly now I use it as a quick character barometer. If somebody treats me rudely because I took a little longer to say something, I now know something about that person.
