It gets better and better. There are still times where I find myself not asking a question. Not because of my stutter. Just because of years of conditioning by my stutter. In these instances I make a point of correcting my faulty behavior and going back to ask the question. When your fluency gets strong enough, the anxiety around disfluency recedes. Part of the therapy I received involved building a confidence in my fluency. The fluency becomes muscle memory (of a sort.) That confidence does a lot to combat the stranglehold that our stutter has / had on us.
