My experience with the McGuire program

My experience with the McGuire program I attended the McGuire program this fall, where we learned a lot of techiques. I practised it frequently and talked to my coach almost everyday for about a two-three months after. But after a while it became exhausting. My stuttering isn't that severe, so I had to put in a huge effort to do the techniques even when I knew I could say the sentence fluently. Now I'm starting to think that I'm more comfortable with talking the way I used to with a mild stutter, instead of sounding funny and constantly associating my self as a stutterer. The more I think and worry about my stuttering, the more I tend to stutter. And with the techniques, I'm more focused on how I sound rather than what I say. I value the concept of expanding your comfort zones and not avoiding situations though, which is a huge part of the McGuire program. But the techniques itself is more tiresome than helping. anoyone with the same experience? Does it get better after a while? Maybe I am giving up the techniques too soon?
