I don’t know if he’s around anymore but the “I will teach you to be rich” guy, despite being spammy, suggested to get in a position where you are told “no” every day (business, personal, whatever). The idea was to desensitize you to being turned down and you’ll land some “yeses” along the way. This really helped my fluency. I hated the idea of being told “no” on anything and would avoid those conversations as I knew I’d stutter my way through them. Start out small — “May I have a salad instead of french fries?” Call companies and do small asks over the phone — ask to lower your APR on your credit cards or increase your credit lines, etc. Eventually build up to having a job interview or other big conversation where it’s okay if you don’t get the job because it’s an opportunity to have a rough conversation in the interest of honing your fluency.
