I spell my name out. I have a bit of an odd name but even with my husband I spell his out to book appts and his name is super common and so are my kids. Whatever gets it out. Super rude of that guy to laugh though. Sometimes I get the “haha did you forget your own name?!” I think (hope) when they realize I have an actual stutter they feel like a jackass.
