I struggled with stuttering a lot when I was younger, but it's gotten a lot more manageable for me. My dad actually had the same issue as well, but it went away for him as he got older too. Instead of stuttering every third or fourth word when I speak, it's more me stuttering on a couple words every other day. I definitely have "trigger words" that I know are going to be difficult for me. I don't know if anyone else has this, but I have "struggle languages" that I know are more difficult for me to speak because of the stutter. For the most part, I can sort of "feel" when a stutter fit is coming on and I'll either take a deep breath before it happens, or pick a new word. Blocking is still a big issue for me. I also stutter more when I'm nervous or drunk. Even though it's a LOT more manageable, and there are often people who never notice, I have so much shame surrounding it from childhood that I think about it every time I talk to anyone!
