Introducing myself in a group setting Hey guys, I’ve started university in Dublin (Trinity College) about 3 weeks ago I’ve been having an amazing time so far. I’ve obviously had my ups and downs with my stutter but I’ve managed to power on though them no matter what and I’ve still managed to have a great time and make some really good friends. I auditioned for my college’s annual musical and I was accepted into the cast (it’s quite hard to get into so I’m told) I’m extremely pleased! My main hobby is singing and I’ve been pretty good at it the past years, I love musical theatre because it detracts from my stutter and it makes people focus on my singing voice. Long story short, rehearsals start next week and I know we all have to introduce ourselves. Like many stutterers I have the most trouble with saying my name especially to people I’ve never met before and ESPECIALLY in a group setting. (Thinking about it now is making me nervous haha). There’s about 90 of us in the cast. How should I introduce myself with a stutter while making myself seem easy going and approachable? Im going to be close and hopefully become really good friends with the majority of these people over the next 6-7 months. How would you guys approach this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
