I’m old AF so I’ve got lots of experience in using “alternative” words to ameliorate my stuttering. It really has given me a good vocabulary and sometimes I substitute well known foreign words. I understand your take on reinforcing the behavior but I imagine it’s all but impossible for some. I like to think it’s given me a bit of panache, think Christopher Walken. :)
