My first name is Jeff, so whenever I have to introduce myself its usually a complete block or J-J-J-J-J-Jeff. I've come up with a trick that sometimes helps. Because I am a person with a stammer, I can always anticipate situations where I may have to introduce myself (its a gift that we probably all share). Just before I have to say my name, I open my mouth a little early, which simulates a block, then proceed with "Name's Jeff, How are you?" I basically trick my brain to think that I've already blocked on the word and can now speak freely. The mind is a strange place... I probably didn't explain that very well...
