Well you're definitely the one who has to "fix" it, but if you're not actively in that process or arent sure what to do, then it might be time to get some help. Especially since there isn't a magic formula for it. This isn't like losing weight or improving cardio, stuttering is very tricky and individual. That's why I wouldnt discount an SLP. Having a good professional that you trust and who really understands the issues CAN be the difference between success and failure. Cristiano Ronaldo put in all the work himself and has achieved great things, but do you think he'd be one of the two best players in the world now if he just tried to "fix/improve" by himself? No way, he needed those coaches and training staff to help guide him to get the most out of his own effort. You're not going to find someone or something to spend money on that is guaranteed, that doesn't exist. But each thing you try will bring you closer. You'll gain better insight into your stuttering. The alternative is having more money and continuing to live in quiet low grade misery. I totally get how you feel though and feel the same way a lot. I know im really lucky right now but when my friends move away, i'm basically fucked. That's why I was so keen to find the right SLP and I finally did find an incredible one who really gets it. This is a huge challenge to take on all by yourself. A good SLP and support system don't just help you in this battle, I believe they are essential. Like matter of success or failure essential.
