I work for a tech company and am in a management position where I interview and hire people. We do interviews in rounds and then meet as a group to discuss the candidates. Over the years there have been a few other managers who specifically called out that a candidate “seemed nervous and was stuttering over their words.” Noting this as a negative and potential to not move forward. My husband and son both stutter and without reacting as angrily as I want to, I shut that shit down and make certain they know how short sided comments like that are. So yes, this absolutely happens because I’ve seen it first hand. I give my husband the same advice that others have given here, disclose it at the very beginning.
