Yeah they certainly care and I appreciate that. It’s just when this is brought up to me I become more aware and stressed if/how much I will stutter when I speak, espically to them. I think my stutter is really emotional and self confidence related. When I went to speech therapy I was supposed to read out loud for like 10 minutes while the therapist counted how often I stuttered. I never stuttered when reading these books and I told her that reading a book was not a problem for me, however when I read out few sentences from an article, when reading out play cards or something I stutter.. then she also asked me to tell her stories, i.e. tell me what I did over the weekend and she counted how often I stuttered. Somehow my stutter was minor then. She also asked me to talk super slow and stopped between sentences and some other techniques in class and also asked me to work on that at home. I just found it really strange how I sounded and forgot the techniques when speaking/couldn’t implemented in my speech.. Did you go to speech therapy that worked for you?
