To be honest I did feel embarassed, yeah. But now it only makes me glad to know I'm not the only one. I've met stutterers throughout my life, but I've never been friends with one. Fluent people don't understand the struggle. Plus, if they include it in digital media often enough, maybe some people will stop looking at us like we're aliens or something, as it will be more normalized.
