My stutter was terrible as a child, seemed to go away in my 20s, came back in my late 30s and kind of gone again in my late 40s. I had terrible self-esteem as a child. Went away to college and life was grand being young and having fun. I became self-conscious in my 30s. Now I am at an age where IDGAF. Therefore, I can pinpoint the severity of my stuttering to my self-esteem or lack thereof. And stuttering a lot definitely breaks down your self-esteem so it becomes a vicious cycle. I still stutter today but it’s sporadic these days. And every once in awhile, I’ll have a terrible day. Getting plenty of rest also helped me.
