Have you actually heard the child stutter yourself? You've mentioned mom's concern but not necessarily your experience with your child. Is this frequent? Most kids will grow out of stuttering by 5-6. However if you notice it becoming more severe, or they start displaying facial or bodily tics/movements when they do stutter, most specialists are comfortable evaluating at age two or three.
