Great insights here! I would also mention, “exposure therapy” helped me a lot. As difficult as it was, I joined Toastmasters and took a Dale Carnegie class and forced myself into uncomfortable speaking situations in an attempt to normalize them. It really did make a difference and helped solidify my confidence. If I could manage to speak in front of an audience, day after day, talking to a single person in-person or on the phone suddenly seemed a lot less intimidating.
