As a man who stutters, and who has known several women who stutter... There is definitely an element of privilege to being a female who stutters. People are much more patient with women who stutter, in my experience, especially from men. A man who stutters is viewed automatically as incompetent or stupid, but I haven't witnessed that same treatment of the women I've known who stutter. Long story short.. pretty privilege is definitely a thing.
