>I am not a person that confronts people with their behaviors towards me. You have to become that person at some point if you want to deal with the bullying. It’s not easy, I still struggle with it sometimes, but I promise you that learning how to stand up for yourself makes life so much easier. You don’t even have to be rude, just say something like “I can’t help the way I speak, knock it off” or something like that. If it persists, say something like “this isn’t 5th grade anymore” or “you have to deal with this for 10 minutes, I have to deal with this my 24/7.” If that fails, and HR isn’t helping/non existent, call them out on it, in front of other employees if possible. Make them look like the bad guy. The last time someone at work made fun of my stutter in front of others, I literally just said “you know that phrase about stones and glass houses?” And everyone kinda did the “ooohhhhhhh” reaction. It felt nice. You have every right to work in a non-hostile environment, but you also have to learn how to fight for your rights.
