I was in a college meeting and they were taking attendance. It was the first ever meeting, so they were jotting our names down. There were many international students and we were all cordially laughing about us having to spell our names one after the other. I never stutter in my name. It is a short name, maybe that's why. So, I was prepared to say my name out loud in front of a huge group of people,(it was a classroom) but something happened right before I was trying to say my name and I got distracted and when I tried to say my name now, I knew I was going to stutter. But looking at what was happening, I instead spelled my name out first and then said my name out loud and I didn't stutter. I'm sure you always find synonyms of words or other ways to express what's in your mind. It was just like that here and it was really interesting. So, as you mentioned in another comment, you can indeed use nicknames like JJ and your actual name interchangeably based on which word you're stuttering at, i.e., if you're trying to say your actual name and you stutter, say JJ, and if you're trying to say JJ and you stutter, say your actual name.
