I would have to say, employment. Over the years I’ve had significant problems finding employment, when you interview for jobs and you stutter all over it most employers are already thinking next as soon as you sit down and you start talking. The only jobs I’ve been able to get our employers that are literally hiring everybody that walks in the door. I’ve been denied promotions, even though I was doing the supervisor‘s job, they hired somebody else that was less qualified than me. They didn’t tell me it was because of my stuttering, but I know why. Is it legal to hire somebody else because of something that could be considered to disability, no it’s not but any good hiring manager can get around that and say the direction I want to go with his new employee is something that the disabled person didn’t have. At 54, I’ve ended up keeping jobs that I absolutely hate because I know if I quit it could be an extremely long time before I find something else.
