Counterpoint, In a world that is primarily dominated by your ability to make connections, and having something potentially impeding that, its no surprise people will think "if I only was able to vocalize what I want to say 100% of the time". Compare it to the animal hunting world, if you are a wolf and missing half of your canine teeth, this puts you at a severe disadvantage for intimidation and hunting prey. It's easy to see why a skill so valued in the world can make people doubt themselves and feel better if they had it
