I would probably say, this is what has helped me, is to say things as casually as you would talk to yourself. More often that not, even if you find yourself stuck on a word, you will regroup quickly in just 2 or 3 tries. On the other hand, when you think about the stutter and anticipate it, you might not even be able to get the first syllable out. By just talking casually, I am like "So what do you think about the e-e-event at the place?". But when I have spent the whole day cursing myself over the stutter, then I am like, "So wh-a-a-a-a-a-a-a". The worst part is when the other person looks at you as if he/she is seeing a diseased cow raving on the floor. Just absolute confusion, and dissapointment :'(. Its okay though, you live and forget.
